Welcome to our journey!
We first began homeschooling in January 2014 because our family was called to Nicaragua to serve as missionaries. I would love to say that we continued homeschooling that year but that did not happen. Let me explain why we did not continue homeschooling. You see, we were all enrolled in language school at the same time and it was, well let’s just say, no fun and there were LOTS of tears. Tears from mom as well as from my two kiddos. Our brains were mush by the end of our Spanish class and the thought of coming home to homeschool was very hard. The language school was not the right fit for our children to learn Spanish. So, we decided to enroll them in a private Christian school where they would not only learn Spanish but also about the culture. They had the privilege of attending this school for 16 months. Fast forward to January 2016.
We are just getting back into the homeschool routine and invite you to come alongside us. I look forward to sharing with you about what works for our family and what I have learned from other homeschool missionary moms in a third world country. Our homeschool day may look different from yours but I look forward to sharing our experience along the way as we learn to daily surrender our lives, our families and our desires to Jesus!
